University of New Mexico was founded in 1889 and now sprawls out on 600 acres of property near old Route 66 in the center of Albuquerque, a city that is home to more than 700,000 people. Albuquerque offers students a fusion of style, people, culture, and food. The campus boasts Pueblo Revival architecture and the nationally known Campus Arboretum.

UNM includes a cross-section of cultures and backgrounds as a Hispanic-Serving Institution. The main campus is an academic home to more than 24,000 students. The school offers more than 210 degrees and certificate programs, 94 bachelor's degrees, 74 master's degrees, and 40 doctoral programs. UNM offers the largest research, treatment, and education organization at the Health Sciences Center.
